Copywriting. Writing texts for corporate sites

Copywriting. Writing texts for corporate sites It is a common knowledge that a corporate website is an important part of the company's image. Therefore it should be more than just good; it should be perfect. Its web design, usability, and, of course, content must be absolutely flawless. Let as have a closer look at the rules of content development for corporate sites.

The principal constituent of content of any website is an article in all its manifestations. And what is the most important aspect of an article? Of course it is its sense. A meaningless text with a lot of keywords in the article may lead visitors to corporate sites, but it will hardly turn them into customers. Therefore it is very important to find the right answer to the question “What to write?”. So, the notion of a corporate site refers to the main website of the company, its “virtual office”. It means that the site may contain the following information:

  • clear and detailed description of the products or services offered by the company;
  • image-forming texts about the company;
  • reference information: tables, certificates, standards, glossary;
  • thematic articles.

It is better to locate the information about the main activity of the company, its advantages and quality of service right on the main page of the site. Why? The answer is simple. It is the main page that is usually visited by the users who have come from the search engines. If information on the main page is incapable of attracting the visitor's attention, there exists high probability that he will leave such site at once and will continue his search at other web resources. However, even a very good, informative and attractive main page is just a door that leads deep into the site. If there is nothing behind this door, the result is the same – the visitors leave.

Therefore when you write articles for corporate sites that belong to different kinds of companies you should observe several rules that have already become traditional and generally known:

  • do not misuse complex figures of speech and sentences;
  • describe the main idea of the article at the very beginning of your text;
  • describe necessary information in a precise and clear form;
  • set off important information using special tags (h1, h2, strong, b etc);
  • observe spelling and punctuation rules;
  • do not use false promises or other unreliable information in advertising articles for corporate sites.

If you are keeping a sharp eye on the quality of content of your corporate site, its regular updates (at least once a week), you can effectively promote your site in the search engines and acquire a constantly growing audience of the target visitors.
